Sports Mole provides score predictions for both of Sunday's Premier League matches - Bournemouth vs. Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur vs. MX23RW: Sunday, March 7 08:26:43 :120:1. English Premier League Predictions this weekend. L iverpool got back in the win column with victory over the Blades on Sunday, while Chelsea stretched their unbeaten run to 7 games with a draw against Man Utd. Key stats: Liverpool have lost their last 4 home.

Let’s take a look at the full EPL schedule for Sunday.

  • Burnley vs. Sheffield United
  • Newcastle United vs. West Ham United
  • Liverpool vs. Aston Villa
  • Southampton vs. Manchester City

Burnley and Sheffield United clash for a hugely important game in the race for a European place. Following a shock victory over Chelsea in midweek, West Ham travels north to face in-form Newcastle.

In this post, I share my predictions for every Premier League game taking place on July 5. I also look at the best value betting picks for Sunday’s EPL action.

Burnley vs. Sheffield United. Sounds gritty, doesn’t it? This matchup brings together two of the Premier League’s most industrious teams, so it’s likely to be a dogged encounter. But with both sides in contention for a European spot, there will be no shortage of quality on show.

Epl Predictions Merson

After taking just one point from a possible nine following the restart, it looked as though the unexpected lay-off had hit Sheff Utd hard. However, the Blades returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 victory over Tottenham on Thursday, and the club will now be hoping to rediscover from momentum.

Burnley returned to action with a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Man City but have since claimed 1-0 wins against Watford and Crystal Palace. Sean Dyche’s side now sits just two points behind Sheff Utd and level with ninth-place Spurs on 45 points.

I was worried that Sheff Utd was going to slip out of the top seven, but their performance against Tottenham proved that Chris Wilder’s men are serious about qualifying for next season’s Europa League. It goes without saying that this will be a tight affair, but I’m backing the Blades to come out on top.

Newcastle to Beat West Ham

What were Newcastle’s players eating during the shutdown? Whatever it was, I want some! The Magpies have returned from the lay-off in blistering form. Not only have they eradicated any lingering relegation fears, but they have also moved to within three points of the top half.

Having not scored all season, striker Dwight Gayle has now netted in back-to-back games, while winger Allan Saint-Maximin racked up a hat-trick of assists last time out. High-scoring victories over Sheff Utd (3-0) and Bournemouth (4-1) have put Newcastle in a strong position.

Consecutive defeats to Wolves and Spurs left West Ham needing to avoid defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday. But the Hammers went one better by snatching all three points from the Blues. Despite only seeing 28% possession, David Moyes’ side came from behind to secure an unexpected victory over their London rival.

It’s safe to say that West Ham will be brimming with confidence after dispatching of Chelsea, but Newcastle is looking unstoppable at the moment. I’m expecting the Magpies to claim their fourth win in five league games on Sunday.

It looks like Liverpool’s title celebrations may have lasted a bit too long. Now, I’m not saying that Jurgen Klopp’s men were still nursing hangovers at the Etihad Stadium. But it certainly seemed that way. The newly-crowned champion was nowhere near their best on Thursday, and Man City wasn’t in a sympathetic mood.

Epl Saturday Predictions

Having wrapped up the EPL trophy with a thumping win over Crystal Palace last week, the Reds were brought back down to earth with a 4-0 thrashing against last season’s champion. Although the title is already secured, Klopp won’t want his players to take their foot off the gas just yet.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa remains in the bottom three after failing to win any of their four games since the resumption. Draws with Sheff Utd and Newcastle have done very little to help their cause, while defeats to Chelsea and Wolves have heightened the club’s relegation fears.

Villa will be hoping that Liverpool puts in another below-par performance this weekend, but I can’t see that happening. The Reds have a point to prove now, so you have to fear the worst for the Villains.

Man City to Beat Southampton

The title may be gone, but Man City has wasted no time in laying down a marker for next season. Of course, Liverpool was extremely lackluster on Thursday. But it wouldn’t be entirely fair to let the Reds’ poor display undermine City’s statement win.

Kevin De Bruyne – who was the best player on the pitch by some distance – bagged his third goal since the restart, while 20-year-old sensation Phil Foden netted for the fourth time in three games. It is clear that Pep Guardiola wants his side to finish the season on a high.

Southampton is also on course to finish the campaign strongly after claiming six points from a possible nine this side of the break. Comfortable victories over Norwich (3-0) and Watford (3-1) have put the south coast side within touching distance of the top half, although their promising run is likely to come to an end on Sunday.

Epl Sunday Predictions

If Man City can tear apart the best team in the country with ease, just imagine what they can do to Southampton!

You’ve had my predictions for Sunday’s Premier League games, so now it’s time to check out the best value EPL bets for July.

Newcastle vs. West Ham – Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals (2.20)

Before the shutdown, I don’t think I would have been predicting that this matchup would produce over 2.5 goals. But judging by recent results, I can see this being an open game with plenty of goalscoring opportunities.

West Ham put three past Chelsea last time out, while Newcastle netted four against Bournemouth. Both sides seem to have found some goalscoring form, but neither team is particularly strong defensively. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals make sense here.

Southampton vs. Man City – Man City to Win and Over 2.5 Goals (1.90)

Man City may not have been at their best this season, but their ability to score goals hasn’t really changed. The Cityzens remain the Premier League’s highest scorers, and they are about to face one of the weakest defenses in the division.

The bookies have priced the away win at 1.29, but I think we can do better than that. I recommend adding the over 2.5 goals market onto the Man City win to enhance your odds. After all, you’d be foolish to bet against Man City recording a high-scoring victory over Saints.

Manchester City and Manchester United go head-to-head in the English Premier League on Sunday.

It’s a derby duel that likely represents one final, desperate swing for the visitors at reigning in Pep Guardiola’s runaway side at the top of the EPL table.

United are 14 points behind their noisy neighbours and have all-but given up the ghost in the title race after drawing four of their last five league games.

Back-to-back goalless draws at Chelsea and Crystal Palace haven’t helped either, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side now locked in combat with Leicester, West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and the rest for top four positions.

The Red Devils have missed the impetus of Paul Pogba in midfield in recent weeks, with the French World Cup winner still sidelined by injury.

Juan Mata and Phil Jones will also miss out, with Anthony Martial doubtful which could see Edinson Cavani lead the line at the Etihad.

Dean Henderson deputised for David de Gea in goal and kept a clean sheet at Palace, with the Englishman set to continue with the number one left out for personal reasons.

City have won a record-busting 15 Premier League games in a row and are blazing a trail towards taking the EPL crown back from Liverpool.

Wolves were the latest victims on Tuesday, thumped 4-1 under the Etihad lights as the Sky Blues extended their imposing advantage at the summit.

It now seems a case of when, not it, they will get over the line, putting their derby foes and the rest firmly in the shade.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is pushing Kyle Walker for a start at full back, with John Stones also expected to come back into the line up.

It looks to be a battle between Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva for a start further up, too, with Guardiola boasting a wealth of riches at his disposal.
